Evening all - well things have been a tad manic at Lagl Cottage. Dd had her first Brownie camp - an over nighter with the sharks at the aquarium. Brilliant fun but as leaders who would have thought that they really did mean "Midnight feast" on the itinerary!! Way past our bed time :D
Meanwhile work has been piling on and we have now had three house viewings in two weeks! Three I tell you! The first and second for were prepared for, things were polished and tidied to extremes. Number 1 spent time debating the natural light, number 2 liked it but are not currently proceedable. Number 3 was the curve ball - 10 minutes notice this morning - well you cant turn potential away but it may be months before I find all the items I stashed in the ten minute whirlwind!! They seemed to like it but the official feedback will be in soon. So on we go....
Dd celebrates her birthday on Friday - the chances of us forgetting this milestone are truly limited due to the daily countdown :)
Things are a little tighter around the edges this month due to Dh mahoosive car bill - we need to save - especially as my current favourite abode to be is ever so slightly over our budget.
Still time for bed - Love to all, LAGL xx

Trying not to miss the small stuff......
Moving on from house ramblings - hurrah!! This weekend also saw several developments within my little people.....
Dd is off camping next weekend - inside as its only March however one of the requirements was a Onesie - so far we have managed to resist the oversized baby gro but the happiness of my child in her first onesie was quite impressive - only surpassed by the joy of her 7th tooth removal. The need to remove teeth we hope is not linked to the lack of pocket money this month - this is as a result of cutting a hole in her best jeans. I think my exact words were along the lines of, "if you want to cut holes in your clothes then you can pay for them!" Hurrrumph!
Back on the tooth front I believe the tooth fairy may have had some issues during the exchange - dd having been instructed to leave tooth on pillow on desk had decided to put it under pillow after all. The first tooth fairy - a rather hefty chap - left without tooth and had to seek reinforcements - the slightly daintier (but not much) replacement got a fit of the giggles when actually on the bed, whose idea was a high sleeper? The second tooth fairy eventually located said tooth and did the deal. Dd sleeps like me - nothing will wake her - the tooth fairy will be stuffed when Ds reaches this stage as like his Dad he wakes if a pin drops.... Hopefully by then the tooth fairy will have improved their technique!
Ds, every now and then I look at him and wonder when my little boy has gone - ok hes still under 5 but is fast becoming his own man. He is generally accompanied by his fleet of superheros. If they cant all fit in the car with us they fly overhead until he reaches his destination. He is also he informs us a super hero and has super powers - but he's not allowed to tell us what they are! Every now and then though he goes a gooey and insists on cuddles with his old mum - I'm kinda hoping that he never loses this as he gives cracking hugs :)
Bye for now,

Chasing rainbows?
So one post and I disappear for two days! Well my excuse is that we had the call..... Someone wanted to view the house, Friday was spent tidying said house to within an inch of its life. The kids were packed in straight jackets for Friday evening and Saturday morning :)
Dh worked from home on Friday so we also jammed in looking at a couple of potential houses for us. The first would need updating and eventually extending but has heaps of land and is close to where we are which is great. The second, huge house but the garden floods every winter so no use to us. Both require us to sell ours so no point getting too attached.... Our journey so far is complex, somedays I really do wonder if we are chasing rainbows, you can't catch a rainbow, when you get close they move.....
The journey started when we accidentally found a house, we weren't really looking honest. Anyway we put ours on the market. The other house sold we carried on. We then sold ours on the first viewing, found a amazing house to buy and things were going well, until our buyers split up, the house we were buying is now sold and yet again we carry on. We are ok where we are but to be honest would like a spare room and a bigger garden. Spare room due to us filling the two spares we had with dd and ds, careless I know :) our family don't live local so visits now result in beds being moved about. Watching my 70 year old dad climb into a mid sleeper was comical but highlighted that something needs to be done....
The whole process has really been teaching me to appreciate what I have, even when things have fallen apart I still have a family who love each other to bits and a place to call home which is warm and for the main meets our needs.
Anyway the people viewed, apparently my kitchen lacks natural light, hadn't noticed myself but on
we go!
So that's the house saga, quite enough to bore you to tears but it's good to have it down on "paper".
Time to get on with Sunday, love to all that read and please feel free to comment :)

Dipping my toes in the waters of Blogland....
Blogging - never saw it coming but having found a couple of interesting ones which I now read daily I confess I am hooked. My little family and I live in the green and pleasant land of the South West - recently it has been more suited to rice farming however the sun has started to shine and summer will come (I keep telling myself that daily of late - nothing like being hopeful and yes I know it's only February)......
The little family which started with dear hubby and myself - grew nearly 7 years ago with the addition of dear daughter and a couple of years later by dear son. God gave me two hands and two children - frankly I have taken the hint! I have the sneaking suspicion that adding too many children could very easily take me from parenting to damage limitation. I am reluctant to roll the dice again - particularly as there is the occasional twin birth in both parent lines!
Having survived the tweenie years with both sproglets now engaged in full time education life has yet again moved on. My part time work from home has stepped up and to add a joyous flavour into the mix we have decided to up size our abode (more on that another day).
Family life can be surreal at times - we try to be considerate with our resources, be they financial, material or time. I love the frugal blogs and yearn to have chickens and a veggie garden that can actually produce a reasonable yield. Frugal living came after our wake up call a couple of years ago - we finally achieved our debt free status in May 2013 and bar the mortgage that will hopefully be it once and for all. Student loans, getting married, first house, moving south, children and maternity leave mixed with a lack of maturity put us there - the theory is that we are now older and wiser - we live in hope at least!
So there we have it - my first blog post - I will try to keep things amusing but I do have the ability to rant ever so often but I aim to keep that to a minimum. Now I suppose I sit and wait and see if anyone reads this - alternatively I may just retire to the sofa for a brief flick at the gogglebox before sleep time.
